Geoliving has already built more than 170 geothermal plants in Italy and Switzerland. Our specially trained employees perform the drilling with machines that are able to reach depths of up to 300 meters, depending on the underground. These new designed machines were specificly developed for the use in the geothermal sector. The bores are performed with compressed air (environmentally friendly and without chemical additives); by adding water we can prevent the development of dust. The drillhead has a diameter of 127 mm and works without any additional oils. The debris is directly transported through a hose to a skip, protecting the building site from drilling mud. The presence of loose material and crumbly rock necessitates the employment of tubes with a diameter of 152 mm. They prevent the borehole from colliding and are removed once the collector is placed. The moving drillhead crushes the material using compressed air and the rotary movement of the drill rod allows it to work on fresh substances constantly. When the drilling is completed, the collector is positioned and the hole is filled, using special material that protects the collector and improves the heat conductance. Every single operation corresponds to Swiss quality standard; the used materials are certified and ensure high performance over a long period.
