How much does it cost to install a heat pump?
The price of a geothermal installation depends on the needed heating power and has to be calculated for every building.

Is the temperature in the earth's interior stable or does it change over the course of time?
During the running of the heat pump the ground cools down a few degrees. When the heat pump stops the ground regenerates itself and the temperature returns to the normal value. With a correct dimensioned installation the ground will renew it self completely during the year.
If the neighbors drill into the same rock, will the be heat enough for everyone?
With a minimum distance of 8 m between the boreholes, the collectors will not interact and enough energy will be extracted.
Does the plant present a risk for humans or the environment?
Correctly built geothermal plants are no danger to the environment or the population.
How long does the entire installation take?
The time needed for an installation is dependent on the number of boreholes. For a single family home it takes approx. one week.
What is the risk of the heat pump breaking down and my house getting cold?
Heat pumps have the same technology as a fridge, absolutely reliable and long-lasting.
Am I entitled to draw State contributions for the installation?
Geothermal plants are renewable energy systems and are subsidized by regional energy saving programs.
Is it possible to connect solar panels to the system?

Do you need to change the liquid in the collector?
The liquid in the collectors works at a low temperature and does not age.
Is it possible to install the plant also at high altitude?
Geothermal plant are possible at every altitude, but they have to be correctly planned.
How much do I have to adjust the heat pump or change the settings during normal operation?
Heat pumps should be checked and eventually adjusted during the first winter. After that the installation is maintenance-free.
Is it complicated to operate the system?
With a correctly installed system there is no need for any maintenance.
If I place a collector loop in my garden, will the flowers and lawn die?
Horizontal collectors extract energy from the first layer of soil. By extracting too much energy the soil could freeze and remain cold for a long time.
Is the use of ground or lake water for heating purposes harmful to the environment?
The use of ground water does not affect the environment if local rules are respected.
